In June of this year, the company revealed during Computex its plans to introduce a fresh line of GPUs as part of their Twin X2 series. This series showcases an innovative approach to cables, differing from the conventional positioning seen in most gaming RTX models and workstation models. Instead of placing the connector at the center or the side of the GPU, the company’s novel concept involves concealing the connector beneath a backplate.

The concept enables gamers to route the cable beneath the backplate and hide it with a small cover. By doing so, the cable becomes concealed and, if the PC case design permits, the cable can be effectively hidden from view.

Currently, the RTX 4070 Twin X2 stands as the lone model released following this approach. It is built upon the standard 8-pin power connector. Notably, the company has opted not to employ the 12VHPWR (12+4-pin) models for this idea, at least for now. These cables, due to their intricate bending requirements, are prone to incorrect installation. The act of hiding the cable further amplifies the difficulty in detecting misalignment or, in extreme cases, melting of the connector. In order to prioritize safety, Inno3D has chosen to employ standard connectors for GPUs with relatively low-power requirements (200W and below)

The company’s initial model adopting “Stealth Cable Management” marks the beginning of the broader integration of this design into the mid-range RTX 40 series. It’s highly probable that we will soon witness the incorporation of this concept in the upcoming RTX 4060 models.
