MORE than 10,000 homes across Warrington are being eyed for Wi-Fi upgrades, an internet provider has said.

Grain, which provides full-fibre internet services across more than 50 towns and cities in the UK, is rolling out its latest initiative to improve Wi-Fi.

According to the service provider, more than 10,000 Warrington homes are set to benefit from Grain's 'full-fibre network investment roll out.'

The company has plans to roll out its own fibre-optic internet network, which will see cables running directly to individual houses and businesses, rather than through a local cabinet.

Grain says: "This technology means the service is much faster than traditional copper networks which only take fibre to the cabinet, relying on customers sharing speeds with their neighbours.

"By installing a new and dedicated network, residents are being offered a wider choice than just the traditional Openreach network."

The provider goes further, claiming that the average Warrington household pays around £35 per month for internet speeds of 99.63Mb - this new technology, Grain says, will allow communities to reach up to 900Mb.

A statement from Grain explains: "Residents in Warrington can currently sign up to a 100Mb package in August for as little as £19.99 per month, plus three months at just £1 per month.

"Grain pledges to never increase a customer’s price during their contract term, going against the standard practice of many competitors who increase prices annually in line with inflation.

"Other benefits include a free router, free installation, no line rental costs, no post and packaging costs, and no setup or admin fees."

Tracy Karam, head of sales and marketing at Grain, said: “We pride ourselves on great pricing, fair contract terms and a reliable service and we are pleased to be offering our service to residents in Warrington.

“Our Loyalty Price Promise means that we never increase our prices mid-contract and ensure fair and competitive pricing when the time comes to renew your contract.

"This is especially important to us now, with customers being impacted by the rising cost of living.”
