Nothing OS 2.0.2 is currently being released for the Nothing Phone (2), as announced on social media. This software update not only includes the July 2023 security patch but also focuses on improving the phone’s camera capabilities.

The Phone (2) already boasted an improved camera compared to its predecessor, but this update further enhances its performance. The key updates include better low-light photography, improved bokeh in Portrait Mode, enhanced clarity, and faster HDR processing.

Aside from camera improvements, the update introduces other notable changes. Now, when adjusting the volume, Nothing’s earbuds will be displayed. Furthermore, the update shuts down apps when the device reaches its temperature limit for added convenience and safety. Additionally, visual enhancements have been made when the device is powered off due to a drained battery.

Numerous other optimizations and bug fixes have been implemented as well. Notable changes include enhanced photo clarity in 50MP mode, improved stability and contrast in rear camera video recording, refined haptic feedback when typing, improved touch panel responsiveness under certain conditions, and improved network reliability with multiple carriers globally.

Furthermore, the update resolves issues such as Google Wallet malfunctioning in cloned apps, unresponsiveness of the ‘double tap to wake’ feature, unresponsiveness of the Bluetooth Quick Settings tile, and occasional unresponsiveness of the System UI.

The update is currently rolling out to Phone (2) owners, with the guarantee that Nothing OS 2.0 will also arrive on the Phone (1) before the end of August. The Nothing Phone (2) is available for purchase at $599.
